Janette is originally from the city of Tripoli in northern Lebanon. She is the second of four siblings. She was only able to study until the 7th grade (equivalent to CM2). After the death of her father she helped her family by working as a seamstress. She married a nurse in 1965 and had four children. One of her daughters died of cancer in her 30s. Five years ago, her husband also died of cancer. Unfortunately, she no longer sees much of her remaining children, although they do help her from time to time. We have been helping Janette with food since the summer of 2021.
